I hope we win these remaining two games against the Jays. I'd hate to lose this series after sweeping the Sox.

Yep, we need to bounce back tonight to maintain the momentum of the Sox series. With Molina catching, the bottom of the order was pretty weak last night. Tonight's batting lineup looks much stronger so all we need is Joba to be the man he was in his first three starts post the All-Star break and we should be okay.

Greg Cohen said...

Tonight's a pretty big game. They don't want to give another game back to Boston so a win tonight would be important.

JC said...

Tawaza is pitching tonight for the Sox, so I'm hoping he gets knocked around by the Tiggers.

Greg Cohen said...

That would be nice.

the lohud blog has different info on the Gaudin situation, hes getting the start to give everyone an extra day, not just Joba.

UPDATE, 5:03 p.m.: Mitre to stay in the rotation and pitch on Saturday. Looks like they will insert Chad Gaudin into the rotation on Sunday to give everybody an extra day off, or at least Joba extra time. … Brett Gardner has his cast off and hopes to rejoin the team in two weeks.

Greg Cohen said...

Interesting.

You mentioned gaudin is wearing 41. Any idea what number Towers was assigned when he was up?

Mario said...

who the hell is our 3rd base coach, tex was dead, not a chance...

Mario said...

detroit up 3-0 bottom 1st, tigers left bases loaded

Mario said...

nice -1-2-3 inning for joba

Greg Cohen said...

What I want to know is why Tex didn't run him over like he did to Jorge?

JC said...

I wonder if Tex and Posada have talked about that collision since Tex came to the Yanks? lol

"Hey, remember when you ran my ass over but I still tagged you out?"

Towers was 28, which has been a popular number this year.

Other #28's for the 2009 Yankees:
Anthony Claggett
Shelley Duncan
Brett Tomko

Besides Gaudin, Veras also wore #41 for the Yanks this year.

crossfire said...

Posada also hit the game winning walk off home run in that game.

Greg Cohen said...

Yea that was a crazy game. Yankees won 13-12 or 12-11... Something like that... Joba is back in first half form. Surprised it happened so quickly.

Anonymous said...

Posada sucks as a catcher. He couldn't call a game if his life depended on it. Absolutely no excuse for givin gup the lead there. NONE. Nice hitting too Arod you $30m hack.

JC said...

Why is it always Posada's fault when a pitcher gives up runs? LOL

You're such a fuckin' joke of a sports fan.

Greg Cohen said...

And you're an idiot.

Anyway, looks like that brawl fired up the Sox, they've tied it.

Greg Cohen said...

Damn it Joba. 4-3 Jays on Ruiz's solo homer.

Mario said...

1 (of many) good things about the live chats, NO ignorant, ultra conservative, racisist, sexist, retards named "anonymous"

Greg Cohen said...

That is true.

Greg Cohen said...

Lowell homers, 4-3 Sox.

JC said...

Porcello being tossed killed the Tigers.

Greg Cohen said...

They finally hit another ball hard and Damon gets robbed. F***ing baseball.

JC said...

HAHAHA!! Has anyone seen the video of Youkilis charging the mound yet??

He charges and tries to tackle Porcello, but Porello just pulls and throws Youkilis to the ground like a rag doll!!

LOL!!! Youkilis is just a little pussy. Porcello is like a little stick.

JC said...

This is the only video I can find online so far.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOiUV3xNlOI

Greg Cohen said...

hahahaha yea I saw it on MLB network. Porcello tossed him. Meanwhile the Yanks look pathetic.

Greg Cohen said...

Nice hit for Cano... Now they need a big hit.

JC said...

Ah, shit. I always forget about the MLB Network! I still haven't gotten used to that.

I've been trying to find the video online! lol

Greg Cohen said...

lol, I don't even watch Baseball Tonight anymore.

JC said...

I haven't watched Baseball Tonight in like five years. It used to be good when it was on for an hour and Harold Reynolds was there. But now it's just pathetic. Their "analysts" are pathetic now.

Greg Cohen said...

Yup.

The Yankees need to figure out a way to win this one. Handing Boston another game in the standings is not what you want to do.

JC said...

Yeah, it'd be terrible to sweep them only to give two or three games back in the series following.

Anonymous said...

I am so glad Posada has helped our offense! Wow, amazing! Idiots.

Nice at bat retard Melky. Look at a perfect 2-0 pitch right down the middle and then swing at 2 garbage pitches just like your "offensive" buddy PISSada.

If its not the catchers fault and it doesn't matter who the catcher is than ANYONE can catch by your evolutionary public school Pharaoh education rationale.

Hey put a monkey behind the plate MAYBE he will evolve into a catcher, if you only had a billion or trillion years (science is so very EXACT!) Or better yet, put a amoeba there and MAGICALLY it will turn into a more complex animal. Yea, it could happen.....science says so....

And, perhaps your father was a giraffe in Alaska. Idiots.

Greg Cohen said...

You're an idiot.

JC said...

LOL!! Dude, your rants just crack me up now...

Are you on acid or something when you come on here? You're hopped up on something.

Greg Cohen said...

Lowell hits another homer 6-3 Sox.

Greg Cohen said...

Bloop single for Jeter to leadoff the seventh. Can the Yanks get a rally going?

crossfire said...

Yanks are playing flat.

And Anon, time to go back to mommy's basement. Your so friggin' stupid it makes us laugh.

Loser.

Schruender said...

The best news for the Sox was getting Youk kicked out of this thing...though I don't think a 5 game suspension will be quite as good.

It looks like the Yankees are still recovering from a hangover from Sunday's comeback win.

Greg Cohen said...

They need another one. Tex needs to blast one here.

Greg Cohen said...

So much for that.

Mario said...

i'm sure some of you will disagree but i'd like to see cano moved up in the lineup somewhere like either the #3 hold in front of tex & arod or #5 hole behind arod, matsui & jorge are too streaky..

JC said...

Cano's streaky, too, though. He's hot this week, but next week he could be ice cold.

Greg Cohen said...

And Matsui ties it up with a LONG home run to deep right.

Greg Cohen said...

POSADA GOES YARD!

BACK-TO-BACK JACKS for the third straight game.

Yanks lead 5-4!

Greg Cohen said...

By the way, Anon, I'm so glad Posada sucks. LOL

Mario said...

ok, now warm up mo, god did we need that, hate to lose 2 in a row to jays, boston is delayed, but winning 6-3

Mario said...

was thinking the samething greg,

Mario said...

god once you watch a game on a HDTV & then see another on regular, there's no comparison, HDTV is the shit...LCD rocks

Greg Cohen said...

Yea, HD is awesome.

Greg Cohen said...

And the Melk Man delivers. 6-4 Yanks.

Mario said...

i'd love to know how far matsui's HR went?

Anonymous said...

That's a huge rally.

Greg Cohen said...

Me too Mario. It will be on the HR tracker website sometime tomorrow.

Yes Anon, really huge. I know they're up 5.5 but tonight is an important game to win.

crossfire said...

Ever notice that the Posada hating Anon always disappears when Posada does something good?

What a wussbag!

Go Yanks!

JC said...

That homer to center was sooo Posada's fault.

Greg Cohen said...

Come on Mo, stop f***ing around.

Mario said...

ok, DP would be nice, end this crap

Mario said...

greg what is the HR tracker or where is it?

Mario said...

MO needs 12 more K's for 1000

Greg Cohen said...

WOW, the place got loud on that K for out number 2.

JC said...

The stadium is really loud now! I love it!

Greg Cohen said...

YES! YANKS WIN 7-5!!!

crossfire said...

Sweet come from behind win.

And once again... alone in the darkness of his mommy's basement...

Anon weeps.

Anonymous said...

Porcello gets credit for throwing Youkillis to the ground.

LOL @ Youkillis charging a 20 year rookie.

crossfire said...

I'm going to the game tomorrow. Romero vs Burnett.

Go Yanks!!!
