Kennedy Throws Off Mound

The AP via ESPN reports that Ian Kennedy threw a 25-pitch bullpen session off a mound today.

It was the first time he's thrown off a mound since undergoing surgery to remove an aneurysm from his right arm. According to the article, Kennedy said everything felt fine and that he would throw another bullpen on Friday.

Last week
it was reported that Kennedy hopes to be able to throw in a game this year, and will play in the Puerto Rico winter league.

Forgot all about this guy. Imagine if he can come back next year and be good, not Igawa-like, but effective like a David Robertson, Aceves, or like Hughes.

He has talent. He just had no control when he pitched last year.

He also pitched scared last year. He was afraid of contact.

He's still young enough he can make a full recovery and be effective with maturity. Give him time. what do we have to lose?

I'm in that same boat. I can't figure Kennedy out. He absolutely dominates the minors and looked very good in '07. Maybe he's got to learn to trust his stuff more.
